Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mapshock ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and organizational accounts.

2. Description of Service

Mapshock is a strategic intelligence analysis platform. The Service uses AI models to generate analytical assessments based on publicly available information. Mapshock is a decision-support tool — it does not replace professional judgment, and its outputs should not be treated as definitive conclusions.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service
  • One person or legal entity per account — shared credentials are not permitted
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Generate content that promotes violence, harassment, or discrimination
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or replicate the analytical methodology
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or usage restrictions
  • Access another user's account or organization data without authorization
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content
  • Resell or redistribute analyses without written permission

5. Your Data

  • You retain ownership of your queries, analysis history, and knowledge graph data
  • You grant Mapshock a limited license to process your data to provide the Service
  • We do not use your data to train AI models
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties
  • You can export your analyses and delete your account at any time

6. Intellectual Property

  • Mapshock IP: The platform, its analytical methodology, protocols, quality frameworks, and user interface are the intellectual property of Mapshock. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Service.
  • Your analyses: Analyses generated through your use of the Service are yours to use for your internal business purposes. You may share, cite, or reference them with attribution to Mapshock.
  • Intelligence Briefings: Content published on the Mapshock Intelligence Briefings is the intellectual property of Mapshock and may not be reproduced without permission.

7. Service Availability

  • We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
  • AI model providers may experience outages outside our control

8. Limitation of Liability

Mapshock provides analytical assessments generated by AI. These are informational only and should not be the sole basis for significant decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • Mapshock is not liable for decisions made based on analyses generated by the Service
  • Mapshock is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim

9. Account Suspension & Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, with notice where practical
  • You may delete your account at any time by contacting privacy@mapshock.com
  • Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, unless retention is required by law

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Texas.
